What to Expect from Tooth-Colored Fillings
Receiving a tooth-colored filling at Bright Young Smiles is usually a simple treatment. The area surrounding the cavity will be numbed to minimize your discomfort. Stronger forms of sedation can be discussed if you have any anxieties to help keep you relaxed during the procedure. After you're ready, the decayed enamel can be cleared away with a dental drill that we will select based on the location of the cavity in the tooth and the amount of decay. Once the enamel is cleared away and the tooth is disinfected, the area will be replaced with the composite resin and set with a special light. Then, we will polish the filling material so it matches your natural teeth. You should be able to go about your day once the filling is done, but you may have a sensitivity to cold and hot foods and beverages for several days.
